Perth High has achieved another first in the area of ICT with its adoption of an innovative training programme which became available to both PHS staff and pupils over the Christmas holidays.

Perth High School has just subscribed to an all new American website, which offers tutorials and support for all major software programmes, from Windows XP to Powerpoint, Apple's iMovie to Macromedia's Dreamweaver.

The site has downloadable video clips (in Quicktime format) which explain the "how-to" of the software. A first of its kind, the site gives people the chance to learn from the 'pros'. For PHS this is a huge step forward in the ever growing world of IT. It will enable both pupils and staff to hone their computer skills.

Not only will this help pupils in later life when their IT skills will become invaluable, it will also give staff the confidence to handle the wide variety of software used in schools today.

Staff and pupils have been given a password for access to the site for use both within the school and at home as part of the school's aim of involving parents in their children's education.

This means that Perth High School becomes the first school in Scotland, and possibly even the UK, to have access to this amazing facility.

In order to use the website you need to check that your computer has Apple's Quicktime Player, the free software needed to run these clips. If not, pop over to Apple's site to download and install the software.
