Special Educational Needs

The school currently has a number of pupils with Special Educational Needs, including pupils with Records of Needs. These pupils are given extra support for their learning through the activities of two further specialist teachers. These pupils, whose special needs can result from physical difficulties or specific learning difficulties, may also qualify for support from a Learning Assistant of whom a total of five currently operate within the school to assist some of our recorded pupils and other pupils with special needs for part or all of their school day.

The policy of the school is to provide every opportunity for pupils with Records of Needs to experience the full range of educational opportunities within the school and to offer support both in a standard classroom situation and, where appropriate, by individual and small-group tuition.
