Competitions in 2012/3
We will be running trips to the following competitions this year...1) Following on from the success of last years competition held at Perth High, Morrisons Academy have offered to run the second PKC schools climbing competition before the end of 2012. Watch this space for details...
2) Avertical World Bouldering League
Dates - 2nd November 2012, 7th December 2012, 1st February 2013 and 1st March 2013.
Format - 20 problems in 3 hours. 10 points if you complete a problem first go, 7 points for second attempt and 5 for third try. Raffle prizes are awarded at the end of the night. Cash prizes at the end of the series for 1st - 3rd in each category.
Cost is £10 to cover entry, transport and shoe hire. We'll be leaving school at 5pm and returning approx 10.30pm. Numbers limited to 14.
2) MCofS Youth Climbing Series
Format - Three events will take place accross southern Scotland.
Competitors will have to climb 3 top rope climbs and 3 boulder problems.
Top 3 climbers will be invited to represent Scotland in the British finals. We will be running trips for pupils competing in age groups C (those born in 1999 and 2000) and age group D (pupils born in 2001 and 2002). Cost is approx £15 per event. Booking and payment must be made directly to MCofS. Forms will be available from Tony McClelland.
3) National Bouldering Competition
