Parents are asked to ensure that their children attend school dressed in a manner which will encourage a serious approach to study and indicate quite clearly that they belong to Perth High School. In other words, we hope that all our pupils wear school uniform every school day and avoid gaudy colours, casual dress such as denim garments, shell suits, trainers etc. which are inappropriate for school wear. These expectations of dress also apply to pupils' attendance at sports fixtures and excursions organised by the school.
Our full uniform consists of:- Navy Blazer School Badge School Tie White Shirt or Blouse Navy or black Pullover Black or navy dress trousers Navy or black Skirt Both our pupils and parents have consistently supported the retention of the current school uniform. All parents are asked to note that the following clothing is not acceptable for school wear: Clothing or scarves which feature football favours or inappropriate slogans Shellsuits and tracksuits are specifically not recommended for safety reasons as they are highly flammable Denim clothing (jeans or jackets) Baseball caps of any description Trainers (again for safety reasons). Pupils are also asked to have the following items for use in the gymnasia:- White T-shirt, navy shorts, gym socks and training shoes and towel. Knee-length "Bermuda-type"shorts are not acceptable because of the safety risk to pupils caused by them catching on apparatus. On the playing fields:- In addition to the above, suitable footwear and a tracksuit or warm top (blue) can be worn in cold weather. Swimming:- Swimming costume or trunks, towel and 50p is needed for swimming lessons. The Education Authority operates a scheme to provide clothing and footwear to ensure that each pupil is sufficiently clad to take full advantage of the education provided. Eligibility is related to parental income. Parents wishing to apply for assistance should complete an application form which is available from the School Office. |
