We all looked in awe as we walked under the belly of the building to the steps and doors leading into the concourse. This was the first day in the life of the new Perth High School, Oakbank Road, Perth. The school had relocated from our old Muirton site (now Perth Grammar School). Gone were the HORSA Buildings, where we used to have Maths and Music with our umbrellas up as the rain poured through the roof!

It was August 1971 and change was becoming our middle name. We had already gone through the ordeal of decimalisation in February of that year and moved from primary school to secondary. Now we entered the new school as 2nd years! What would become of us? Who would be famous? Who would end up in jail?

Well now we can find out………with our school reunion!

A few years (!) later as we hurtle towards our 5th decade, and following a successful school reunion 10 years ago, a small band have got together to organise another school reunion and see how and where our fellow former pupils have got to in life, are they still in Perth, Scotland or moved to Perth, Australia.

If you know of any former pupil who attended Perth High School between the years of 1970-1975, but especially those who celebrate their 50th birthday this year we would like to meet up with you again. If you were a teacher at Perth High School (Mr Hogg !) or a pupil who turned teacher (almost all of the PE Department!) during those early years of the seventies we would be pleased to see you too. So start looking out old photographs and contacts and spread the word……

The School Reunion – Our Golden Years – will be held in the Civil Service Club, Perth on Friday 5th September 2008. 7.30 pm till 1pm. Buffet and Disco.

Tickets only £10, meeting up with old friends – Priceless!

Details on how to purchase tickets will be made available in April this year. So watch this space – or if I can get myself organised – MySpace!
