Christmas Charity workBy Robert | Friday 7th Jan 2005 12:00The school has been busily engaged in charity work in the run up to Christmas. Various activites were organised and a decent sum of money was raised.
Christmas is a time of giving and Perth High Staff and pupils made the most of the seasonal spirit of generosity by generating a number of fund raising activities in the run ?up to the Christmas Holidays.
Principal Teacher of Guidance, Maria Dawson organised an internal Christmas card postal service with pupils, with the donation delivery proceeds going to children?s hospice, CHAS. She also spearheaded a coin collection of unwanted Coppers, resurrecting the old maxim, ?pennies make pounds? ?Band Aid? was the beneficiary of the non-uniform day on Tuesday 21st when pupils gladly hand over 50p for the privilege of not wearing their uniform for a day! Meanwhile, Learning Support teacher, Melissa Wilson had collected wardrobes of much needed clothes for the homeless which were distributed through the ?Edinburgh City Mission?. Initiative was on display when the young enterprise group of senior pupils, who are involved in ?real? business promotions, raised funds by selling ?personalised? ?T? shirts displaying the picture supplied by the purchaser. |
